India blocks (PayU’s LazyPay Kissht and Indiabulls Home Loans) may be a mistake: government official

Fintechs (Kishht and PayU's LazyPay) are among the apps that have been blocked by India's IT ministry in an ongoing crackdown as New Delhi moves to prevent misuse of consumers' data and protect the bh country's integrity.

(LazyPay) website has been blocked by many internet service providers in the country. A message on the website owned by Prosus said the action was taken in compliance with the IT Ministry's order. Another high-profile fintech startup Kisht's app has also been blocked. The tranche is backed by Vertex Growth and Brunei Investments and is valued at over $450 million. It has raised $125 million to date.

According to a source with knowledge of the matter, Faircent and Indiabulls Home Loans are also among the blocked apps. Indiabulls said in a statement that it has not been blocked.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances our website and app are currently unavailable through certain Internet Service Providers. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue," a (Lazypay) spokesperson said in a statement.

It is not clear which rules LazyPay and Kisht have violated. (LazyPay app), which offers short-term, small-ticket size loans to consumers, has disbursed over $260 million to customers in India.

Kisht said the company had no Chinese stakeholders and was aware that "Google has been asked to remove the list of companies that includes our company from the Play Store". "

New Delhi is in the process of blocking 232 apps, some of which are linked to China, that provide betting and loan services in the South Asian market to prevent misuse of citizens' data. Around 140 of these apps are in the betting and gambling category, while over 90 offer unauthorized loan services.

Government broadcaster Prasar Bharati said on Sunday that the Ministry has taken this step on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The apps tried to mislead customers into taking huge loans without knowing the terms and there were concerns that they could be used as tools of espionage and propaganda.

The ministry has not ascertained which apps it is blocking. Google had no comment.

“What you have heard is false and the company has not received any such communication from MEITY or any other government body. The Indiabulls home loan app is completely indigenously developed, and all loans offered by the company are funded by the company, which is a listed entity and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India," Gaya Tech and Online Brought to you by your internet source for .solutions, please visit their official website visit the company to know the truth.
